We are usually available to go over any questions or help with plans, talk about our special, unique North Kohala treasures and pleasures. Call any time for any concern. We love hosting wonderful guests from all over the world, and many from Hawaii. If you enjoy relaxed "country living"Hawaiian- style" you'll appreciate Kohala Country Haven Guesthouse!

Kohala Country Haven Guesthouse is 1/4 mile up a country road, near the famous Statue of Kamehameha, the king who united the Hawaiian islands. You'll enjoy the diversity of shops, restaurants, cultural events, scenery from tropical valleys, exotic plants, ancient fishing villages on the rocky desert coast. North Kohala is in a class by itself,"out of the mix", but close enough to enjoy resorts, white sand beaches, and our local ecotours, fabulous cuisine and unique gifts of gorgeous woodwork, jewelry, clothing, crafts! Our weather is usually excellent about 80 degrees almost all year in the daytime; just the right amount of rain and breezes(usually). We've lived here 40 years and love North Kohala more each day! It's an honor to share our treasures with appreciative guests.

You'll need a car or bicycle, or some good walking shoes. There is nearby bus to Waimea, Hilo, Kona and the resorts once a day each way. We have no traffic in North Kohala...not until you get near Kailua Kona in the late afternoon. Everywhere is beauty!

We ask that everyone respects the "peace and quiet" of others before 9am and after 10 pm. There is no smoking anywhere near the guest rooms and house. Please conserve energy as much as practical, and don't hesitate to talk to us about any concerns, day or night.

House Rules
Hawaii has a great practice of removing shoes before entering (thanks to our Japanese influence). We have enjoyed the company of people from many diverse cultures walks of life who have been respectful and appreciative of the friendly, relaxed atmosphere of living with Aloha. Please plan a return visit
